Tim Ho Wan 添好運

I first heard of this extremely affordable Michelin-starred restaurant from PS. Went online to do some research and found this article from Telegraph which pretty much says it all.

Our total waiting time? 3.5 hours! (It was on a Saturday noon which would be considered as peak period.) Was it worth the wait? Totally!! But I would definitely plan my itinerary better next time. Go catch a movie or clock some serious shopping time in Mong Kok area during the wait... ;)

One important note: Don't wait on an empty stomach! Thank goodness there were plenty of snack options in the vicinity.

Baked bun with BBQ pork

This is a must-try. It is not a regular dim sum item that one can easily find elsewhere. Kinda similar to char siew po luo bun but it was so much better. The texture of the bun was amazing... crispy crust with soft and light interior.



Vemicelli roll stuffed with pig's liver (aka "cheong fun")

Not the usual stuffing that one would get in regular dim sum outlets. The liver was cooked to perfection... succulent yet with a good bite.



Pan-fried turnip cake

The chunky turnip strips were a pleasant surprise! Very refreshing to the palate.



Steamed shrimp dumplings (aka "har gau")



Steamed pork dumplings with shrimp (aka "siew mai")



Steamed chicken feet with black bean sauce


The last 3 items were good but not mind-blowing (well, they are the classics afterall!). I would probably skip these on my next visit, just so I can try out other interesting items on the menu!

Thought you were being sarcastic with the michelin star intro. Wow! 3 hours is a jolly long time to wait for food. Nice pics.

Haha... I know! It's indeed the most un-Michelin restaurant to be awarded with the star. I read somewhere that Michelin guide had actually published a "disclaimer" to state that this star was awarded based on food quality only, and not the service and ambience... :P
